BookSource Director Jim Chalmers to retire after 35-year career.

BookSource’s Jim Chalmers is retiring from his role as Business Development Director after a decade with the Glasgow based book distributor. He will be appointed as Non-Executive Director following his retirement at the end of June.

Following a successful 35-year career in the publishing industry. Jim will also retire from his current role of Managing Director at Quantum Publishing Solutions Ltd.

Jim commented: “I’ve had a happy and fulfilling decade with BookSource, working with wonderful colleagues, but I’m looking forward to taking a step back and spending more time with friends and family. The management team have done an exceptional job at developing the company over the past few years and I am certain BookSource will continue to thrive. I look forward to continuing my BookSource journey in a new role as Non-Executive Director.”

During his time at BookSource, Jim was part of the executive team that delivered ambitious growth plans and acquired several independent UK publishers to the BookSource client list including DC Thomson, Maverick, 5M Books, Equinox Publishing, MMS, the children’s publishing sales agency and most recently sales and marketing agency Inpress Books.

Managing Director of BookSource, Davinder Bedi commented: “Jim is a much respected member of the publishing industry. It is no exaggeration that we will miss Jim, however I am delighted that he has agreed to take up a role on our board as Non-Executive Director.”
