Overstocks Returns Guidance
BookSource is IRI compliant for overstock returns authorisations via Batch Returns.
Batch takes the effort out of the returns process. Simply enter a list of overstock ISBNs to the Batch Returns website to receive authorisation within hours. Then print out a picking list and bar-coded labels that BookSource will scan on receipt of the boxes to identify your account, process the books and issue a credit note.
To return overstock items via Batch:

Log in to the Batch Returns website.

Create your returns request and enter the ISBNs.

Confirm the quantities to be returned.

Await authorisation.

Print the authorised returns documentation.

Return the books to BookSource (only re-sellable books will be credited).

Authorisation rules and credit value

Request quantity must not be more than the NET quantity supplied over the last 15 months, taking into account what has already been returned or authorised.

Credit value will be based on actual values invoiced on those documents we have matched against.

Authorisations will remain open after 3 months.
Credit notes will be emailed to the address we have on your account, and are also available on Batch Payments where applicable.
Overstock returns authorisation is not applicable to all BookSource titles.

To return books from Publishers that are not participating in the Batch Returns scheme, or for authorisation of non overstock returns (eg event stock) please follow the instructions below:

Contact the Publisher(s) or their Rep(s) directly for authorisation.

When you have received authorisation, please include the following in your return package:

Account Number.
-
Invoice number(s) the titles were received on.

Proof of authorisation to return (i.e. the email from the publisher).

List of ISBNs and quantities for each.

Clearly mark on packages/cartons 'Returns'.

We are unable to accept returns without prior authorisation.
