What to expect when you partner with BookSource

Finding the right distribution partner is crucial because they will be an integral part of your team and business. However, each distributor is different. At BookSource, we offer unrivalled service and flexibility to our clients.

Moving to BookSource

You can expect a stress-free move to BookSource. Our approach is to build a positive working relationship from day one. I'll be your main point of contact throughout the onboarding process. I will share your onboarding plan and arrange regular project meetings to keep you updated every step of the way.

​

We'll work together to set a 'go live' date when customers can start to place orders. We will assist with any communications and announcements to the trade, your authors etc. We will also contact customers to ensure they open an account if they have not yet done so with BookSource.

​

Systems

Our systems team will work with you to get your books up and running on our systems. We use Bookmaster, a world-leading publisher and distributor operating system. We are integrated with all the industry-standard ordering services including Pubeasy, BatchLine, and Teleordering, and have direct EDI relationships with the industry’s key players (including Amazon, Waterstones, Gardners and WH Smith). We can integrate with various title management systems (including BooksoniX). If you have a website, our team will assist with integration for eCommerce/D2C orders.

Stock transfer

First, we will arrange to receive your bulk stock ahead of the go-live date so that we can promptly and efficiently fulfill orders from go-live. We will receive your forward stock after the go-live date, ensuring a smooth transition. If necessary, we will communicate with your current distributor to arrange the transfer of your stock.

Our team provide a personable service, which means really listening to our clients and putting ourselves in their shoes.

​​Customer analysis

We are confident that the majority of your customers already have an account set up with BookSource. As part of the project plan, we will cross-reference your list with our customer base to identify those who still need to open an account with us.

​

Your dedicated Client Manager
You will be allocated a Client Manager, who will be your direct contact here at BookSource. Your Client Manager and (when necessary) the wider Client Services team are on hand to help you with any queries, handle issues and resolve problems quickly and efficiently. Your Client Manager will become your champion at BookSource and become acquainted with your business. We expect you to enjoy the personal service that we’ve become known for. They will be involved in every step of your BookSource journey, from annual reviews to site visits, and we hope that you quickly regard them as a valued member of your team.

Reporting and analytics

​Your Client Manager will introduce you to InfoSource, BookSource’s online resource and reporting tool, allowing you to access your data 24 hours a day. The level of reporting and data capture within InfoSource gives you a competitive edge, enabling you to spot opportunities and make well-informed decisions quickly.
