BookSource at 30

Three decades of helping publishers do business. That's 10,957 days of getting books to where they belong!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our clients, customers, friends, and colleagues for joining us in celebrating our 30th anniversary. This milestone would not have been possible without your support.

Throughout this past year, we had the privilege of celebrating this special occasion at several events, including receptions at the London Book Fair and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. These gatherings were not just about celebrating our history but also about the 351 independent publishers we have helped along the way.

For those who are unfamiliar with our story, BookSource was established in 1995 by Publishing Scotland (formerly known as the Scottish Publishers Association) in response to the news that the Albany Book Company, which was distributing titles for approximately eight of its publisher members, was going into receivership. Thirty years later, we are still owned by Publishing Scotland and we distribute for over 170 publishers across the UK.

BookSource Managing Director, Davinder Bedi, said, “Helping publishers do business is what we do at BookSource. This was our mission when we were founded 30 years ago, and it remains our mission today. Thank you, 351 publishers, for supporting us over the last 30 years, and for just doing what you do. You are, indeed, the lifeblood of our industry.

Thanks to our brilliant team. Our business IS our people, it is through them that BookSource has become what it is today, and through them that we will keep learning, adapting, and keep on helping independent publishers to do business. To thrive and to publish!"

Thanks to all our friends who have helped us celebrate this year - here's to many more years of helping publishers do business!
