BookSource Awarded ISO 14001 Certification

BookSource has announced that it has been awarded ISO 14001:2015, the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems (EMS).

The certification was awarded following an audit assessment by an external body.  BookSource’s Managing Director, Davinder Bedi said: ‘Positive environmental practices have been at the core of our operations for several years, working towards ISO 14001 certification allowed us to create an even deeper focus on our operational processes and their impact on the environment.’

He continued ‘We have reached a key milestone on our environmental journey.  We have a responsibility to our publishers, customers, colleagues and planet to reduce our environmental impact.  Our ambition is to become the leading distributor for sustainability.  It is my hope that this certification underlines our priorities for the future.  We are committed to play our part in a sustainable world while driving the business further.’

Marion Sinclair, Chief Executive of Publishing Scotland, the majority shareholder of BookSource said: ‘I am delighted that BookSource has been awarded ISO 14001.  This accreditation is a key element of the road map for a sustainability strategy for Publishing Scotland.  I have been impressed by the enthusiasm the whole team have demonstrated throughout the accreditation process.  It is an important accomplishment, and our members can be assured of our focus in developing a sustainable sector in Scotland.’
