What is MOSL?
MOSL is Minimum Order Service Levels.  A BookSource service, established to reduce carriage costs for the publisher and consolidate orders where possible.

Why MOSL?

In order to provide you with the best service, whilst ensuring deliveries meet industry standard delivery times, we established MOSL.  Our priority is to ensure that there are books on shelves for customers to enjoy whilst assisting where we can to reduce carriage costs.  We want to encourage orders to be placed in quantities which are economically viable for us all or allow us to treat smaller orders differently.

How does MOSL work?

Our standard service is to dispatch your orders within 2 working days. However, where the combined value of your orders and backorders is less than £100 (after discount) they will be held for up to 5 working days to allow for further consolidation.  Our systems have been updated to manage this.

Can I opt out?

At BookSource, we appreciate that our standard MOSL may not suit your business model and that sometimes you will need something different. By clicking here you can ask us to treat your orders and backorders in one of the following alternative ways:

  • Hold everything indefinitely until the consolidated value reaches £100 (net).

  • Never hold anything and dispatch within 2 working days. A Minimum Order Charge of £4 is applied to all orders less than £100 (net).

You can also ask us to remove the order hold and pay the Small Order Charge when you place your order by telephone or email, and our FastTrack service remains in place for urgent orders.
