Introducing Minimum Order Service Levels (MOSLs)
Our mission is to help publishers do business and since being formed by Publishing Scotland in 1995 we have been doing just that, to the extent that we now have over 120 client lists in our portfolio and are one of the most respected book distributors in the UK.

Like other industries, the publishing sector has seen considerable change in recent times. Rising carriage costs and volatile fuel surcharges, increasing paper and cardboard costs together with a ‘little and often’ approach to ordering by customers, are placing considerable financial burden on how we and our clients operate. At the same time we must continue to ensure that there are books on shelves for customers to enjoy and this is something we want to support.
We want to keep giving you the best service but to do so we also need to change. We want to encourage you to place orders in quantities which are economically viable for us all or allow us to treat smaller orders differently, and to that end we are introducing Minimum Order Service Levels.
From 1st August our standard service will be to dispatch your orders within 2 working days. However, where the combined value of your orders and backorders is less than £100 (after discount) they will be held for up to 5 working days to allow for further consolidation.
We appreciate that our standard MOSL may not suit your business model and that sometimes you will need something different. By clicking here you can ask us to treat your orders and backorders in one of the following alternative ways…

-
Hold everything indefinitely until consolidated value reaches £100 (net).
-
Never hold anything and dispatch within 2 working days. A Minimum Order Charge of £4 is applied to all orders less than £100 (net).
You can also ask us to remove the order hold and pay the Small Order Charge when you place your order by telephone or email, and our FastTrack service remains in place for urgent orders.

We hope you understand why it has become necessary to make this change, and we want to assure you that it will allow us to continue to provide you with the best possible service whilst at the same time helping publishers do business.
